FINAL HONOR

​The Final Honor complementary program ended in 2023. The much-needed expansion of Miramar National Cemetary meant more services being provided on a daily basis. After several months of working with the increase of services, it became clear, as experienced horse people, it would be too much of a workload for one horse. Bringing in a second horse mid-day was logistically and financially out of the question. The decision to end the 12 1/2-year program was a difficult but necessary step. The original program's success lay in the smaller number of services the cemetery provided in the early years, which allowed us to provide the carriage for all veterans, regardless of rank or time served. We were honored to provide the carriage for upwards of eight thousand services!

As an alternative, we do still offer the horse-drawn carriage on a private basis for a fee. My husband and I have been providing funeral carriages in the private sector cemeteries all over Southern California since 1995. The carriages can accommodate a casket or urns.
